Welcome to the Healthy Terrain Nutrition Blog with "the world famous" Dave Readyhough, your certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP). My favorite youngest daughter is helping me figure out how to add a blog to this website and she has no idea what to write about in this post. She is a badass (which she gets from me) as is her older sister. They are both killing it out on the East Coast - the younger just graduated with a Master's of Architecture and the oldest just started her PhD. Even though they are much smarter than me, I like to tell my daughters that "I will live longer than all you bitches" because I have been living a very healthy life for the past 8 (?) years. The 45 years before that, however, were the opposite of what you would call healthy and they don't really know how I survived this long to begin with. Prior to becoming a Nutritional Therapist I worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years. My youngest daughter, who just read Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential for the first time (a solid 22 years after it was published, but she was always a slow reader), is pretty convinced my time in the restaurant industry probably didn't do much for my health either. She's not wrong. But the ironic part is that I probably will live longer than the rest of them anyway (ha!)
And for now I am doing that living in sunny San Diego with my awesome wife, the actually famous chef Renee Fox, and our wonderful dog, Lola. Renee might be upset if I didn't also mention her cat, Latte... I invite you to follow this blog for updates on our pets, photos of good weather that will definitely make you jealous, lots of recommendations and pictures of really good food, and whatever else happens to end up on this blog! Thank you all for your support, I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
